The first design hire for the Sydney office of a global well financed fintech start-up, you will be building end to end experiences on a global open banking platform.
The role is embedded within the product team and you will be working closely with engineers, PM’s, and the wider global design team, responsible for creating user-centric beautiful design across mobile apps and dashboards.
There is a particular focus for design around payments and data, and as the business is involved with the latest fintech trends like Cryptocurrency, WealthTech and personal finance, the business wants to be at the forefront of fintech, and also design. It will be your mission to create modern and user friendly interfaces that are a delight for the user experience at every step of their journey.

Key responsibilities:
  • Create wireframes, graphic mock-ups and prototypes for all devices (responsive design)
  • Work closely with PMs, developers, and the wider global design team
  • From research, competitor analysis, usability testing and data, make informed design decisions to build the best user experience
  • Adopt and evolve the Design System library
  • In collaboration with the development team, do pixel-perfect reviews of frontend products before they are pushed in production
  • Create decks, guidelines, docs and other design materials needed to support the product commercially
Key requirements:
  • Significant experience building products
  • Ability to solve problems of complexity through smart design
  • Specific experience in a fast growing Fintech/API/SaaS company an advantage
  • Being data-driven, and be able to back up your assertions with data
  • A user-first attitude
  • Strong understanding of web grids and browser limitations
  • Experience designing for iOS and Android
  • Familiarity with usability testing methods
  • Experience working with Design Systems
  • Experience working in an agile environment as part of a product team
